The City of Alamogordo and Alamogordo MainStreet are kicking off the public planning process for the Downtown Metropolitan Redevelopment Area (MRA) Plan. Consensus Planning, the City’s consultant, will be holding a two-day workshop to gather input and ideas for the MRA
Downtown District, shown on the attached flier. The MRA Plan can be a valuable tool for the City to support local businesses and encourage new businesses to locate in the Downtown area. Through the MRA Plan, the City will identify redevelopment strategies and catalytic projects that will spur economic development and help restore
Alamogordo Downtown as a welcoming and vibrant center of the City.
The public is invited to drop in at any time starting on Monday, March 19th between 12:30 and 6:00 P.M. and Tuesday, March 20th between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. The public presentation will be given on Tuesday, at 6:00 – 7:30 P.M. Both the workshop and the public presentation will be held at the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts at 1110 N New York Avenue.
As part of the MRA planning process, the consultants have created two surveys, a General Public Survey and a Downtown Business Owner Survey.
